I simply adore hotel interiors, you gain an experience and an inspiration that you would not necessarily get at home. This is because the colours and ambiance we choose for our homes reflects us and we would not paint our living room bright green if it was uncomfortable to live with everyday. This is where hotels are different, many are glamorously designed, cool, contemporary and some a little daring and crazy. Hotels can play with wild designs and decor simply because people do not live in them. We can tolerate a bright green room for a couple of days or even a week perhaps because we know it is not permanent but merely an experience. This is why i love hotel interiors and the inspiration they radiate.
Hot Stuff! Great for a weekend break but not for my home. The Jimi Hendrix Suite at the Cumberland Hotel.
Orange is a very dominant colour. It is a colour of nature and is regarded as being very exotic, therefore associated with spices and sunsets. This wonderful mix of yellow and red can warm and brighten up a room which is lacking in light, particularly north-facing rooms. Orange used as an accent colour works well with black and dark grey and can also look amazing with white, blue or lime green.
