Colour Inspiration: {pink}

Bring on the pink! Pink has been seen everywhere this season, in florals, accessories, new makeup collections and even shoes! There are so many hues to play with… bright neons, elegant ruffles and plain pink. If you own or are seeking to own something pink to wear this spring remember to wear it with style. I don’t usually wear pink, apart from makeup, so for me spring is a great excuse to try it out!

Hollywood glamour oozes with pink. Pink is highly popular with celebrities and is widely seen on the red carpet. It’s popularity is inspired by 1950s fashion as can be seen by Hollywood actresses such as Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Dorothy Dandridge.

Pink is definitely a colour to wear this spring in the evening or during the day. As i previously mentioned, many celebrities opt for pink when choosing what to wear on the ‘red carpet’ as pink is a very elegant colour. Their image & style reflects 1950’s fashion:

How to wear pink in spring:

  • Neutralise neon pinks with neutrals and greys.

  • Contrast colour blocking pink with another bright colour.

  • Opt for a Little Pink Dress instead of the usual Little Black Dress.

  • If you do not like pink attire opt for a pink accessory instead such as a piece of jewellery or lipstick.
